Santander X - Live Stream

Santander X is the entrepreneurship division of Grupo Santander. They recently launched the Santander X Environmental Challenge: a global call for entrepreneurs with innovative solutions aimed to build a more sustainable future. This competition culminated in a worldwide live stream that we produced and directed. This competition, in collaboration with the Oxentia Foundation, featured the very best environmental, sustainable SMEs and start-ups.

The Challenge

To host a fantastic live event which celebrated the environmental solutions and businesses that are tackling the climate crisis, to announce the winners in a live ceremony and capture their reactions live on air, all while the nominees were joining remotely from many different time-zones around the world.

Our solution

We wanted to create an event with impact so we integrated a seamless 30 minutes of animations, pre-recorded footage with a live presenter to create a truly exciting and interactive event.

We designed animation transitions and backgrounds in the signature Santander red with highlights in a royal purple and a bold white to up the production value.  And in order to celebrate the achievements of the entrepreneurs that had got this far we designed a pre-recorded reel to celebrate their work. On the day, we hosted all 20 nominees live during the announcement then moved to a real-time reaction interview with each of the winners.

To preserve the event for posterity and to continue highlighting the challenge and those which are coming soon (watch this space), we designed a short and up-beat promo video featuring all of the live reactions and interviews.

We’re so happy with the result and want to congratulate all the winners: Cogo, Xilinat, Climate Trade, Plastecowood, Breeze Technologies and Scoobic.

We had a complex brief to build an event with such a diverse range of media, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way. We created the most important aspect of any live event: a feeling of excitement!
